Val Wyatt unveiled: A fresh look for a new era

Welcome to a new chapter in the long and memorable history of Val Wyatt.

As we welcome 2024, it’s time to unveil our refreshed identity that captures the essence of our legacy, as well as our vision for the future. This isn’t just a change, it’s a transformation that recognises our past and is reflective of who we are today.

A new year, a new look, and new possibilities …

The decision to refresh our brand

Last year we decided it was time for a change. The goal being to better reflect who we are today and what Val Wyatt represents in 2024 and beyond. We have been working closely with Valiant Design on this pivotal task, a female-owned and operated company that resonates with our values and understands our unique identity. The entire rebranding process has been a thoroughly enjoyable one, and we are extremely proud of our new look.

Goodbye to the sailboat logo

For more than half a century, our beloved sailboat logo has been a symbol of Val Wyatt’s commitment to excellence in the marine world. Designed by Bill Wyatt, the son of Val Wyatt himself, it incorporated the “V” and “W” in his father’s name, proudly featured on all of our materials. Most recently, its last big adventure has been crossing the Atlantic, proudly supporting an intrepid trio of women as they rowed 3,000 miles non-stop across the ocean in ‘The World’s Toughest Row’ for charity.

As we move forward, we bid a fond farewell to this iconic emblem, making way for a fresher, cleaner look.

Our brand new identity

Val Wyatt, the name given to the business nearly a century ago by Val, will remain in place, but we are simplifying our trading name to remove the “Marine” of Val Wyatt Marine Ltd. It will always be important for us to keep the core element of our brand name in place, as it is a testament to the tradition and trust built by the Wyatt family – and us as successors – over many generations. The transition will see many things simplified, including our email addresses to @valwyatt.co.uk

It was also important that our new branding and website reflected our rich history (dating back to 1845), together with our modern approach, along with our commitment to quality in both the boats that we sell and the services that we provide to our customers. The new symbol, representing two hulls, is also an ode to our initials ‘VW’. It’s the perfect blend of tradition and innovation – just like us.

A website that lives and breathes boating

Our redesigned website focuses on the essence of boating – the joy, the tranquillity and the adventure of being on the water. It highlights our marina and the range of boat brands we offer, encapsulating the entire Val Wyatt experience. It features beautiful video footage and imagery of the marina, is easy to navigate and includes a tweaked colour pallet and fonts.

More insight into Val Wyatt

As well as a focus on boating itself, we have also created new spaces to share more context of our values, our team, careers with us, and our history highlighting where we’ve been, where we are, and how we move forwards.

A community effort

The rebranding isn’t just our story, it’s a collective narrative written with our team, customers, and marine partners.

The captivating photos and videos are the result of a memorable day of filming by Tiger Co in Wargrave in August 2023.

And our entire team, along with 13 boats – many of which were generously loaned to us for the day by our customers, along with 50 friends and marine partners, joined in the mission and the celebration, culminating in a little after party with pizzas and drinks.

It was a day filled with fun, laughter, good company, conversation, food and bubbles – and a shared love for boating.

Looking forward to a bright 2024

Commenting on the news, Lisa Anacora, our Managing Director, said: “As we embark on this exciting new chapter, it’s important to remember that while our look may have changed, our core values and dedication to providing exceptional boating experiences remain the same. This rebrand is more than just a new logo or website; it’s a reinvigoration of our passion for boating and a commitment to our community.

Huge thanks goes out to everybody that has helped, especially those who joined us for filming and the magnificent team at Valiant Design. We’re delighted to share this new chapter with you, and we look forward to many more years of adventure on the water.”
