Boat Sales Preparation Assistant, Wargrave, 2026

We’re looking for a practical, self-motivated individual (or two part-timers) to join our team at Val Wyatt Marine for the boating season. This is a hands-on, outdoor role. You’ll be on the water and around boats every day, keeping our sales boats looking their best and supporting our yard team with marina works.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience within the marine industry while working in a dynamic environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Opening up boat covers first thing in the morning and replacing them at the end of the day – and keeping an eye on the weather to get them back on earlier if needed!
• Cleaning and preparing boats for sale and for customer handovers
• General marina maintenance around the yard
• Assisting customers with electric dinghies as needed, including ferrying
• Supporting the sales team with preparation tasks – including polishing and pre-delivery inspections (PDIs) as you get more confident in the role
• Occasionally assisting with viewings if the opportunity arises and you’re keen to get involved

What We’re Looking For

• Happy working outside in all weathers – this is primarily an outdoor role
• Practical and self-motivated, with the initiative to spot what needs doing and get on with it
• A genuine interest in boats
• Able to handle small powered craft, or eager to learn (full training available)
• Comfortable helping customers in a friendly, helpful way when needed
• Reliable and conscientious – the boats in our care need to look their best.

Hours & Availability

We’re open to one full-time candidate or two part-time candidates. Weekend availability is important – at least one weekend day is required, with both Saturday and Sunday preferred. We’re happy to discuss hours and days.

Pay

£12.81 per hour (national minimum wage; age-appropriate rate applied where relevant)

Contract

Fixed term — immediate start through to end of September 2026.
