Boat Yard Assistant, Seasonal, immediate start

We’re a busy, independent marina on the Thames and we’re looking for a practical, self-motivated individual to join our yard team for our spring programme of boat works. This is a hands-on, physical, outdoor role – you’ll be helping us prepare and relaunch around 200 boats, so there’s plenty to keep you busy!

What You’ll Be Doing

• Boat maintenance – washing, antifouling, compound polishing, teak and canopy cleaning
• Manual handling – lifting sleepers, chocks and stands
• Ground maintenance – grass cutting, strimming, sweeping, weeding and keeping the slipway clear
• General marina maintenance across the yard, machinery, buildings and shared areas

What We’re Looking For

• Happy working outside in all weathers – this is primarily an outdoor role
• Physically fit and up for hard work
• Proud of the quality of your work and with a keen eye for detail
• Self-motivated – able to work independently as well as part of a small team
• Polite and helpful towards customers and colleagues
• Boat handling experience is a bonus, as is forklift experience – but neither is essential

Hours

Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm (8.30am – 5.30pm in summer), 42.5 hours per week

Pay

£12.71 – £13.50 per hour, depending on experience

Contract

Fixed term – start date 16th March 2026 through to 30th June 2026.

You’ll need to be able to reliably commute to Wargrave, Berkshire (RG10 8LH).
