Henley-on-Thames events 2026: The boater’s guide to a brilliant summer

Val Wyatt - Henley Events 2026

The picturesque Henley-on-Thames is not only in close proximity to Val Wyatt, but also close to our hearts. Our marina in Wargrave is just one lock, and a few short miles, away from this iconic town. As you’d expect, large proportions of our boating community spend significant time navigating up the River Thames to explore the beautiful surroundings and to take advantage of the many amenities and events it has to offer. Henley – especially in the summer months – is thriving. Here are just a few exciting pop-ups, events and festivals you should be pencilling in this season, especially if you are currently looking for boats for sale near Henley:

Thameside Social (15th June to 12th July)

We cannot wait to visit Thameside Social this summer. Orwells Restaurant and Pavilion Foods have partnered to launch this exciting pop-up, which will be located at Upper Thames Rowing Club from 15th June to 12th July. The pop-up will include high-end dining and hospitality during Henley Royal Regatta, as well as a rotating line-up of mouth-watering street food and events in the Hawkstone enclosure. We do wonder if Jeremy will be popping along at some point?

An action-packed calendar includes walking events, chef demos, English Wine Week, and a celebratory Father’s Day roast dinner experience.

Henley Royal Regatta 2026 (30th June to 5th July)

Quintessentially British, the Henley Royal Regatta is one of the most prestigious meetings of its kind across the world – and we know for a fact it is one of the first events boat owners look for in the seasonal calendar. The 2026 festival takes place from 30th June to 5th July, attracting thousands of visitors. It includes more than 400 races of an international standard, including many Olympic crews. Expect an electric atmosphere and plenty to see and do.

Take a closer look at what to expect by visiting the Henley Royal Regatta website.

Secret Raves (30th June to 5th July)

Running simultaneously to the Henley Royal Regatta will be Secret Raves. Situated halfway along the Regatta course, visitors will be able to let their hair down whilst enjoying a full week of 90s and 00s throwback nights. The programme blends daytime rowing with festival-quality evening entertainment. Acts include EMF, best known for their smash hit “Unbelievable”, Bez from the Happy Mondays, and Supernova, a brilliant Oasis tribute act. If you missed out on seeing the Gallagher brothers last summer, this is the next best thing.

Henley Festival 2026 (8th July to 12th July)

If that hasn’t quenched your thirst for live music, Henley Festival returns just three days later. Always a huge favourite with the boating fraternity, Henley Festival has confirmed a stellar line-up for 2026. This includes Lulu, The Bootleg Beatles, Boy George and Culture Club, Jo Whiley, Bjorn Again, Sugababes and the Ezra Collective. You’ll also find plenty of comedy acts, including Alan Davies and Russell Kane. Great music and plenty of laughs – what else could you want?

Just like previous years, limited moorings are available within the festival enclosure. Visit the Henley Festival website for full details.

The Lockdown Lodge (17th July to 9th August)

After all that partying, we were thrilled to read that The Lockdown Lodge is returning in 2026 for its seventh year. If you’re looking for a delicious lunch whilst out on the river, The Lockdown Lodge offers street food (for walk-ins) and fine dining (pre-booked only). Opening at 8am each day, it is the perfect place to enjoy a coffee, cold drink, or pastry in the morning, before the street food kitchen opens from midday, taking orders until 9pm. Last orders at the bar will be 10.45pm – the perfect opportunity to enjoy a crisp glass of wine on a warm summer evening. Our community will be pleased to hear this pop-up is accessible by boat, bike or foot – just a 10-minute stroll across Hambleden Weir from Mill End Car Park.

Pirate Pizza along the Thames in 2026

Pirate Pizza is a firm favourite with the Val Wyatt team. An amazing selection of tasty pizzas made in an oven on the Muchroom Bargee – what a fantastic idea. Pirate Pizza alternates between Henley, Marlow and Hurley. Keep an eye on their Instagram page for updates and schedules.
