The Main Uses of the Interboat Intender

Interboat Intender 700

The Intender 700 is the perfect day boat for families, offering the flexibility of a fully open or closed-off transom. This design allows the spacious cockpit to connect fluidly to the large swimming platform, making it ideal for family outings and water activities.

A feature of the Intender 700 is the helm cushion at the stern, which converts to a triple sundeck. With the 33hp diesel engine reaching speeds of up to 10 knots, and the 52hp Volvo diesel engine reaching up to 15 knots this boat can offer confident headway against wind and tide in coastal locations.

Interboat Intender 820

The Intender 820 combines the best of Interboat’s unique features to offer style, space, and practical facilities for longer cruising. The adaptable transom easily converts the boat from an open platform with a triple sundeck to a safely enclosed, watertight cockpit.

As with the entire Interboat range, the 820 is built with comfort and ease of handling in mind. The construction features solid engine foundation and insulated engine box both minimising noise and vibration underway. The keel and shaft drive provide surefooted straight-line handling and stability at river speeds. Engine options up to 170hp make the 820 more than capable for coastal and estuary cruising.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Can I pop in to visit you?

Absolutely! We can get busy, especially on weekends, so if you would like to view a particular boat, we do recommend you book an appointment with us.

What is the difference between a river and estuary boat and a coastal or offshore boat?

River and estuary boats are built for calm, sheltered waters and designed for manoeuvrability and shallow drafts. On the other hand, coastal and offshore boats are sturdier and built to withstand more challenging conditions such as rough seas and long distances. Please see our blog on CE categories for more information.

What size of boat would suit my needs?

The size of your perfect boat will depend on your intended use, the number of people you plan to have on board, and your storage and comfort needs. Smaller boats are ideal for day trips or inland waters, whereas larger boats are better for offshore cruising and entertaining larger groups of people.

How much does it cost to keep a boat?

As a general rule of thumb, if you take your mooring fee, and double it, that will typically be the average cost for looking after your boat each year. This includes insurance, licences, maintenance, wear and tear repairs, and a fair amount of fuel, assuming you’re sailing on sheltered waterways and not offshore powerboating.

What maintenance should I expect when owning a boat?

Your boat will require regular maintenance to ensure it continues to perform optimally. This will include regular engine checks, cleanings, hull inspections, and upkeep of safety equipment. In the winter months, you may also need to prepare your engine for colder temperatures or cover your boat to protect it from adverse weather.

What kind of safety equipment is required on a boat?

The level of safety equipment you need will depend on whether you are boating in sheltered waters or out in the seas or oceans. As a minimum for coastal boating, it is essential to have life jackets for each person, a fire extinguisher, a whistle or horn, a first aid kit, navigation lights, and an anchor on board your boat.

Do you have moorings available?

Our moorings have been full for the last few years. Our current waiting list is for those who have purchased a new boat through us. However, if you are buying a boat through us, it is worth asking about mooring availability as things can change all the time.

Can you sell my boat?

We will likely be able to sell your boat if it’s in good condition. We will be fully transparent about the asking price of your boat, and we will only encourage you to list with us when we are confident that we can get great value for you.

We specialise in glass-fibre motorboats from £25,000 through to £500,000 and can lift boats up to 42 foot and 14 tonnes. If we cannot help, we’d be more than happy to recommend an alternative broker.
